not sure you would guess this is just 8 km from the capital's CBD.. then again, perhaps there is a reason Canberra is not renowned for it's nightlife!!
You might have to view enlarge to see the 'traffic' on the road. I would normally crop this - but decided to do something completely different to show everyone the expanse & how well the wildlife is camouflaged.
Oh come on Lyn, we have a great nightlife (not)! I went into town last night, got completely lost because of the construction and couldn't get a car park on a Thursday night! Great shot, although it did take me a minute to find the kangaroo.
@automaticslim I have learnt from 365 that what is around us every day easily becomes 'mundane' and the intrinsic beauty is often overlooked. This is one reason I have posted quite a lot of 'Australian' feel shots since last January - I am trying to see the scene before me through international eyes. But to be honest, all I really 'saw' after a 15 km hike through this scenery was the cow poop and the red soil!
@orangecrush thanks Jerry - The processing is partly inspired by your love of retro / desert colours - I am trying to learn to 'see' the opportunity in photographing scenes that might have appealed to other peoples eyes. 365 certainly gives us the opportunity to constantly expand our photographic 'horizons'.
