My Get-Pushed challenge from April Milani was to use window light to to enhance the mood of a photo. No access to any great looking windows so far this week,so this is taken on my dining table near a window, using flash and a gold reflector to enhance the feel of window lighting.
This is a challenge that has made me think quite differently about lighting, given me an opportunity to create a shot I may never have tried otherwise, and given me inspiration for new photo opportunities!
@aprilmilani Thanks for this challenge April ! In this shot I was aiming for directional light that was still balanced. Perhaps not as much 'mood' here as I would have liked, but I will keep working on it. :)
@graemestevens thanks Graeme, that's the look I was aiming for. I recently bought a 5-in-1 reflector & after shooting the fruit bowl, I realised I could aim the flash into the reflector (on the left) and gently mold the reflector around the object -- this gives a ' super large' light source ( aka the sun coming through a large window). I placed a small ($2) desk lamp with a daylight bulb on the right, to fill some of the shadows.
