A weekend trip to Maroochydore to photograph an acrobatic expo. All of the young athletes were outstanding, and suprisingly (for me) I was actually pretty happy with my shots!
This image was not part of the weekend brief, and I would have liked to have had the time to take more 'artistic' angles, but I really enjoyed the experience. Inspired by the style of the very talented Brooke Shaden http://brookeshaden.com/gallery/
@maggiemae Hi Maggiemae, thankyou ! there was just one acrobat, and the clouds & butterflies are added afterwards in editing. I will upload the starting image for you to see why I wanted to change it into a fantasy interpretation.
Amazing whimsical art! you are a master at creativity! Thanks for the link to your inspiration but I couldn't get it to work! Thanks too for the link to your process!
@grammyn *blush* :-D that's so lovely Katy! I forgot to leave a space after the URL - fixed now - try http://brookeshaden.com/gallery/ Brooke is an absolute master and her work is fabulous. @jocasta thanks Jocasta - yes I watched that session too - she has such a beautiful aura, I am inspired by her as a person, and as one who is a master of her craft.
@northy there are probably quite a few sections on you tube - her before/after is incredible to see. I think you would really like the way she understands lighting in images. Her photoshop approach is quite easy to follow & write down. I have bought Aaron Nace's creative live - and I need to rewind each section 5 times because he is reeeely technical. I think Brooke's approach to compositing is easier to understand - she started making the same type of shots in a studio apartment & so she knows how to get a 'fine art output' on a shoestring & with photoshop workarounds so you dont 'need' to spend a zillion hours editing.
@jocasta thanks Jocasta - yes I watched that session too - she has such a beautiful aura, I am inspired by her as a person, and as one who is a master of her craft.
