Photographers strive for 'catch lights' in the eyes to make the eyes more 'alive', and food photographers also work with specular lighting to portray fresh yumminess.
This fruit has a great expanse of white, and it was very easy the blow out the reflected highlights of the whole area, or have a flat 'dead' white area!
You did a fabulous job of lighting on this shot Lyn. Such good information on the link to specular lighting. I must admit that its not something I've heard of before ...... so much to learn.
Interesting article.... My eyes prefer the tomatoes in the first example ;p. But your dragon fruit looks lovely... Not sure about yummy though... I've never managed to wrap my mind around what those things taste like!
