The Australian Academy of Science's 'Shine Dome' was built in 1959, to reflect the inquiring and innovative nature of science. The copper-sheathed concrete dome is 46 meters in diameter and weighs 710 tonnes. The design won numerous awards for its "unconventional and futuristic design".

Shocking weather again today and this was the only building shot I took that did not have rain droplets on the lens - taken between the rain showers and icy wind.
Wow! An amazing structure and very unique looking.Posting it in B&W makes it look very futuristic still
