whooo you looking at?

It has been a busy few weeks, but I am now really looking forward to catching up with everyone's postings.
This very cute Southern Boobook owl was hiding deep in a colleague's suburban back yard.

@lynnz thanks Lynn - it was like a jigsaw trying to find a gap in the tree to shoot through! :)

Look at him looking right at you. What a wonderful discovery. I love the clear focus on his face and eyes, and yet you can clearly see that he's hiding in the tree.

You are so right. This is the cutest owl I may have ever seen. Very clever of you to compose this image through the leaves to frame him so beautifully. A terrific shot, Lyn

@deborah63 @grammyn I was sooo frustrated that this was the only clear line of sight ,even though I spent 20 minutes circling the base of the tree!

Well spotted, they aren't easy to find. We hear one in our trees all night long, just making the same boobook call.

First of all it's an amazing looking owl to begin with but even more amazing that you found him in someone's backyard and not the woods! I think a clear line of sight would have made this just like any other owl in a tree shot. But the blurred surroundings and the way you caught him looking at the camera makes it so unique. fav- and I wish I could fav it more than once!
