restoration (PWYD1 challenge) by ltodd

restoration (PWYD1 challenge)

I first became interested in digital photography through an interest in family history because I could not believe how much it cost to repair one old family photo. So I set about learning how to do it myself & soon had a much better understanding of how many hours it really took to 'properly' repair a damaged photograph!
There is a big difference between 'renovating' and 'restoring' a house to it's original form, and it is the same with photographs.

PWYD = 'Please would you do' and is a new challenge about restoring an image, in this case, repair an overexposed image. I enjoyed this challenge - I learnt had to really think about the image as a whole, more than the various parts that had different processing needs. So I thank Elin for posting this challenge - it was a way to try some new processing techniques, and think about images a little differently.

I love it. And you've explained it much better than I did too. Infact it seems you knew exactly what I was trying to put into words (but failing miserably!). Brill :)

@lluniau thanks Elin. :) I really enjoy the challenge of 'saving' an image. Thanks for posting the challenge - I had fun working on your lovely image.
