This is such a good bird in flight - clear eye, interesting wing angle, and the fish in its mouth is a wonderful bonus. I wasn't sure what you were asking to do regarding post processing, so this may not be at all what you're interested in so take with a grain of salt, but here's what I'd probably try to do: (1) bring up the whites -- even if it's a bit blown out in a few places, it would be worth it to liven up overall, then (2) reduce highlights to your satisfaction. (3) If you have some space to work with, I'd come out just a bit to give the bird some more room, especially to the bottom and left - more space to 'fly into' (4) you might increase contrast overall and increase texture on the bird (I'm assuming you are using lightroom). Depends on what happens with the whites and highlights though. I like the pattern in the water so wouldn't want to lose that. It's worth playing around -- I like it's shape a lot, a bit more than in the other option.
