i absolutely adore this! i have witnessed this so many times during my visits to the old country and i've been both horrified and excited seeing them weave in and out of traffic, although i have not seen 'five' grown-up ladies in one motorbike all at once. but a family of three with a mattress, would've been a treat to the eyes of the first world people. aces!

Many thanks. Three on a motorcycle is not unusual; four let alone five is relatively uncommon but not unique. This was the second time I had seen them in the space of about five minutes; they obviously saw me and did not seem to mind being photographed.
The two-fingered v sign is often used in Thailand when people are having their photograph taken and is not the same as a similar sign more commonly used in the West.
