I just read an article that you can train your brain to be happy and not focus on comparing yourself to others or the negative and flaws all around you. Each night write down three things that went well and why they went well, important or insignificant. I see that some of you already do that on here. It says that old people are happy because they remember the good and forget the bad.
@hermann I just looked Desiderata up online and learned something new today! I found my title on Pinterest. Thanks for sharing about Desiderata, Sally.
I actually heard a woman talking on the radio about this concept quite a while ago. Interesting concept, and well worth the try. We tend to focus on the negative too much! The leaves are beautiful here!
Very lovely shot of a pretty color of Fall. I try to think of the good things but my life lacks excitement and good things and my past holds nothing but nightmares. I just take it one day at a time and the reason I started this project in 2010 was to help me focus my brain on something outside of myself. It's therapeutic.
Good words to live by! I do try to focus on the good and whenever I feel like I'm heading to far into the negative, I work really hard at getting it out of my brain. One way I've always done that is to list off all the good things in my life. So, I guess I was on the right track! Beautiful shot!
