I used this picture from 1951 to make my dad's Father's Day card. I'm the oldest child. My dad is 92 and living at the Veteran's Home now. He liked the card. He let me put in his display window outside his room. He was a pilot and Commander in the Navy and will not let me put a picture of him in his officer's uniform in the window.
I just came back to look for any photos of your granddaughter that just graduated and realized that somehow I wasn't following you. I don't know what happened, but I am again!
this is a real treasure. i have two sisters too but I am the youngest.
what a nice card you must have made. i am curious why he does not want a picture up of him in this uniform.
@gq I don't know why he wouldn't let me put the picture of him in his officer's uniform in the window. Guess I should ask him because I've always wondered.
He sounds so humble- many of the WWII vets were/are. My dad always down-played his service. This is such a great nostalgic shot. A nice tribute to your dad.
