Another fabulous image Lynn. I love the colour combination of yellow and blue. I would also love to try something like this, but don't have a clue where to start. Fav
@ludwigsdiana@lyndamcg This was taken with my Tamron 18-270 mm lens and I just focused on the one flower in front. I think the most important thing is to take shots in the right light (early morning and evening). I've never tried using extension tubes. I do have a LensBaby lens that is fun to use, but most of those shots are horrible! I do love how the LensBaby blurs the background if I can get a good shot. It's all about the light there too. I also have a Tamron macro lens (90 mm) that I use the most for flower shots. My Tamron lens are both several years old and what I got with my first DSLR.
@mchartwig Celi, I didn't enter this year. Did you? I found your pictures last year at the fair. I wish I would have entered this year. I'm just not very confident about getting any in and I didn't want to tell everybody I didn't get in after having 3 last year! Thought I would quit while I was ahead!! Be sure and let me know if you have some on display so I can look for them!
three in last year . . . that's fantastic! the photos are always so good and the salon so competitive. every year I learn something new when I look at the endless rows of gorgeous photos. I have two in the show this year, one in the animals/insects section and one in the architecture section. no ribbons, but that's okay by me. just happy to have a few in the show. the winners this year are all extremely deserving. last year they took three of mine, but two years ago they didn't take any of my photos. it's been hit and miss, but i've enjoyed the process of preparing and selecting which photos to send off to the judges.
did you enter the state fair photography solon?
