I didn't like this picture because of the brown grass, but changed my mind after reading a poem posted on facebook written by a friend about finding peace in the lull and interlude between dormancy and life. A couple of meaningful lines for me were, 'don't be afraid to dawdle here in this colorless world, in this place where the heavy cloak of snow has been recently shed. The fact that the grass is visible is enough for now'.
I like the poem you found. I too have a number of shots of dried grass/reeds and a pond, with or without waterfowl, I don't post that many because they seem kind of dull but I keep taking them because I find them strangely restful.
What a wonderful poem! Lovely image. I find it uninspiring this time of year to take a walk around the neighborhood trying to find a subject to capture that isn't dull. At least you have the blue water which looks so nice with the browns.
