@samae We learned on a tour at Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, Sanibel Island, FL, that the knobs on their beaks grow on their beaks during breeding season to attract the females, and they fall off later. The guide said the white pelicans winter in Florida but travel north for the rest of the year.
