I would like some honest opinions about this photo. And don't just be nice! I can take some criticism (just this once anyway!) Is it too washed out? too light? Thanks!
I like your dof. I don't know whether it's technically too light on the left, but I quite like the contrast between the two sides - one light and quite busy with flowers and one darker and with more space. I wonder how it would look cropped to a square with less space on the right. I suppose the main thing is whether you like it.
Personally I love the fade. I look for photo's like this on purpose. I would crop where the blurred out (weed) is on the left to keep the eye from going there. Otherwise I think you caught the sun and the details beautifully :-)
I think it's lovely but if you're asking for opinions on this one I'd perhaps crop the right of the image out. The light on the left is subtle - a complete contrast to the darker right side which, to my eyes, appears too distracting. My eyes were drawn to this part of the image first yet the flowers are the subject of the image.
I would be inclined to crop the left side, it feels too bright to me. It looks like opinions are pretty evenly split, so it comes down to what you like.
Lynn, I always love the softness and light airy feeling of your photos, and this one is no exception. I would probably crop it on the right, but just a little. If it were me, I would probably take out the stick on the right and put your logo in the area right above the lower flower. At any rate, it's a great photo with great dof and bokeh! I like your idea about asking for constructive criticism! Hope you don't mind, but I think I'll do that as well. It's nice to land your photo on the Popular Page but I want to grow and challenge myself so that's a great way to do it. Thanks for the idea!
I like this shot its colourful and summery, cropping is one option, but you'd lose a good part of the image. I think darkening up the left hand side ever so slightly may help.
@cindymc@fayefaye@gamelee Cindy, thanks for your thoughtful comment, good idea about the stick. Thanks always, Faye. And thank you, Lee, I was wondering if it should be darker.
