Fourty four trips around the sun completed today...
The number of candles pictured is obviously not representative of my actual age for health and safety reasons... I did try, but I was driven back by the heat ;)

Flash of red this week is all about negative space. We also have to find something to photograph several times in different ways... not sure how I'll fare on that one but I'll try to give it a go for a few days later in the week.

This is so beautifully done and it looks amazing on the black background! How did you get your background so smooth and not to show the noise and grain of darkness? I always struggle with this.

@jenp It was shot against a black background and I used the black & white setting on my camera while shooting, and then I just increased the contrast to deepen the blacks using Silver Efex.
