Barn swallows. by maggie2

Barn swallows.

The barn swallows have been putting these mud nests on the side of this building since I was a kid. I'm not sure what's so good about this building, but I can count on it to have some nests to photograph.

Thanks everyone for looking at my pictures and all the very kind words.
Fabulous shot, Margaret! I've never seen nests like this before! Kind of looks like an owl! lol

@shenay Oh how lucky you are Shenay. You get some amazing shots of birds and squirrels. Your yard must be just perfect for them.

@buccigrossi Brian, there were about 10 nests all under the eaves of a building. The mud puddle they gather the mud from is not far from the building. As I watch them, they dive bomb me. There aren't any babies yet, just the adults....I think. Their faces get dirty as they build. It's really quite amazing to watch.

I'm with the others...the small preview looked like some freaky eyes. Ahhh....those barn swallows can be stinkers!! They like to try to build their mud nests on various places of our house and like to swoop at "you". Very neat photo though!
