Looks like quite a project! You may want to put those pictures in a better album though. These peel and stick pages are made with a glue that will eventually eat away at your pictures. I used to do a lot of scrapbooking (before 365!) which is where I learned about the glue. Some of my photos were already showing evidence of damage. These pictures are certainly part of your family history you don't want to lose. I love seeing that the whole family worked on it!
@eudora Early to mid-70s I think. My husband and his friends literally built it on the weekends. Just decided to do it and did it. I can't imagine such a thing but sure am glad to have that place now.
@olivetreeann oh yes, I know that album is awful! I need to be cautious taking them out in order not to damage them on removal. You don't happen to know if there's anything I should clean the back with once they're out do you?
@margonaut I would try to get as much off by hand as possible. I don't know of any product that's safe for the actual photo. But I do know a trick for removing them from the album. If one is particularly stuck try sliding a waxed dental floss between the picture and the album page. Move slowly and it usually separates the picture nicely without too much warping.
