This is Rock Savage Power Station.
This is on the edge of a huge industrial estate.
Some of the chemical processes used in the complex are very power hungry. Many years ago the owners felt they were getting pushed out of the market, by companies from abroad who had cheaper electricity prices.
After getting nowhere with their suppliers, and the Government, they decided to build their own power station.
They now sell any surplus electricity out into the National Grid.
Well, you’ve got to hand it to them for initiative. Any big chemical complexes make me extremely nervous. These giant chemical companies have done so much harm. On the other hand I’m sure that I support them in many ways by buying and using their products, or products made by using their products. Sigh, just one of the quandaries of modern life.
