ISLE OF LEWIS

Day 3.
Wednesday, excellent breakfast at the Decca, bottom right, then back to area around the Butt of Lewis and a gorgeous little bay. Then down to the Port of Ness, taking photographs from the top of the high breakwater, I saw the Coastguard come down and did think for a minute he had come down to tell me to get down but no. Watched and shot Terns, Gannets, Shags, and Seals fishing in the bay. Then a short drive to Eoropie beach, more Machair and one of the countries most beautiful beaches, top picture. Sadly time flew by and I had to drive to the ferry at Tarbet, about 70 miles away. What a drive, almost the full length of Lewis and Harris, fabulous scenery and NO Traffic !!! I was overtaken once and for almost the entire way there was nothing on the road in front of me. Ferry from Tarbet to Uig on Skye, sea totally flat like a mirror, with two pods of Dolphins providing entertainment en route. Drove down Skye stopping as and when, more real fish and chips. Walked to middle of Skye bridge for some shots and made the compulsory stop at Eilean Donan, apparently the most photographed castle in Scotland. Reached Aviemore in the early hours. Need to go back to the Islands !!!
Wow what a trip. Sounds amazing but there's never enough time esp when you want to stop every 5 mins for another pic of another stunning view! Stunning shot of the fulmar.

@zigzag33 Thank you Linda, yes I could have easily spent all week just on the Isle of Lewis, and still not captured a fraction of what's there to shoot.
