There was a huge number of Gulls on the lake when suddenly something spooked them and they took off en-mass. I quite like the very busy confused scene, but they never seem to fly into each other.
Amazing shot. I guess you were lucky to be there when it happened but skilled to ensure the camera settings were just what they were. Great anticipation.
@colins Thank you Colin, it is a very large Gull roost and they do take flight quite often, I had the camera in B&W and the settings as they were because I was trying to get the shot of the Tufted Duck in my other album today. Whilst I was doing this the gulls took off and filled the sky, through the viewfinder it looked quite interesting and I quickly took a few shots. This one seemed to have worked.
