Early start, off to Wales on Mission Kingfisher, unfortunately no sightings which makes photographing them very difficult. I did get some rather nice pictures though so not a wasted journey. I picked this one, not because it was the best shot, I just liked the pose he took, and no he was not eating, just standing like that. The shot in my other album today I picked because of the story behind it.
What incredible colourings!! Shame about the Kingfisher. We have one near us on teh local brook. I waited 12 years to see him and then saw him twice in a week. Very fast, very small, but beautiful.
@seanoneill Thank you very much Sean, yes they are very fast and thats the problem. I know quite a few places, that if I walk along I stand a very good chance of seeing a flash of blue. Zero chance of a shot, let alone a good shot. So I need to visit places that i know they visit to sit and fish and just have to wait in the hope that our visits co-incide. A friend told me yesterday of a new spot where he has been fishing and had a Kingfisher, more than once landing on his fishing rod and using it as a perch to fish from, sounds like its worth a visit.
