WINTER BLOOM by markp

WINTER BLOOM

I have photographed and posted this flower before on the 30th December, I was pushed for time and did not do it justice. In fact I think it was rubbish. However in the garden this morning, I saw it again covered in raindrops and basking in the morning sunshine and thought lets have another go at this. This time I am quite happy with the result.
This did give me a problem though as today I was really spoilt for what to post. I had been out in the very early hours taking an industrial night scene both in colour and B&W, after taking the rose, I also got some quite nice shots of the Grey Wagtail which has started visiting the garden but had been quite elusive to actually photograph. To top it all off I also found the first Snowdrop in the garden in flower. What a choice. I have put a link at the bottom so if you wish to see which one I chose just click on it.

So lovely! I yearn for the season (and location) when this sort of shot will be available to me frequently again. Thanks so much for sharing this natural beauty.

What an interesting flower - I haven't seen one like that where just the outer petals open all the way like that. Great problem to have -- too many good photos to choose from!
