I am making a wild guess here, but I think this might be the Grey Wagtail that spent most of last Winter in and around my garden. He was a very regular visitor several times a day, then in the Spring he vanished, presumably to a river somewhere to breed. Then a couple of weeks ago he turned up again, its took me that long to get a nice shot of him. Seems strange that a different bird would appear and follow the same routine.
I love it when birds return like this, like in the spring when my perennials poke up through the ground again, I heave a sigh of relief to see that they have survived and returned.
@_catherine_ Thank you Catherine, yes it might have been except we already have a Yellow Wagtail here. The Yellow Wagtail is just a Summer visitor, disappearing to sunny climes in the Winter. He is very similar to the Grey except that where the Grey is grey, the Yellow is yellow. We also have a Pied Wagtail, which is black and white, and stays all year, and an occasional visitor from Europe the White Wagtail which is also black and white. Simple Lol.
Simple. Lol.
