This had the potential to be a really nice shot, unfortunately the Heron was just a split second TOO FAST ! I have missed the tip of his wing and he is too far left, he has no room in the picture to move into. Must try harder.
I find it's the unexpectedness of their moves that catch me off guard every time. They stand still as death for ages then suddenly, and seemingly without warning, jump up and fly off. It has also been suggested to me that since my camera uses an EVF, the minute lag between when the action happens and when I see it in the viewfinder, may also make it a bit more difficult to capture such a rapid movement. But I think that may be just an excuse of another frustrated photographer.
They just don't cooperate the way we want - I have such a hard time getting a heron in flight - as big as they are I didn't realize it would be so hard.
