A BEE, DOWN UNDER by markp

A BEE, DOWN UNDER

No, it's from the garden not Australia. It's weigh, very light as it is, pulled the Borage flower over, and left it hanging on upside down. Not that it seemed to bother it.
I love the detail in this and the angle is superb. Is that his tongue hanging out? oh, the color is super.

@LaLa Thank you LaL.a, yes that is her proboscis, it is basically her tongue, and acts like a drinking straw. She can extend it into flowers and drink the nectar at the centre of the flower. However it does have other uses, they will use it to lick other Bees from it's hive including the Queen Bee. It is also used as a brush to groom its body, similar to the way a cat would, but it is also used to clean up the hive itself. A very useful tool.
