I think these are lovely birds and perfectly adapted for life on the water. They rarely come to land apart from the nesting time. They can swim extremely fast without any apparent effort and are expert fishermen. They dive beneath the water in search of fish, and surface seemingly hundreds of yards away from where they went down.
