ON FINAL APPROACH

I have had many, many attempts at getting a decent flying bee shot. I think I am getting a bit closer with this one.
A Honey Bee on final approach to a Phacelia flower.

If you have a close look, the little pollen basket on her leg is purple from the pollen already collected.

How excellent! A purple basket instead of a yellow/orange one. never noticed that before. Then I guess it is lavender season. One must change one's basket for the summer season you know!!

great close up and I too am surprised by the purple pollen where I'm used to only seeing yellow. I'll have to keep my eyes open for multicolored bees baskets around here.
