I went out looking for Kingfishers again. I went somewhere where they are around and I have seen them many times before.
Unfortunately they have not been very obliging recently. Anyway I sat down and waited, normally there is always something to see from this hide. Grebes, ducks, Coots, Moorhens, wagtails, crows, are just a few of the long list of birds I have seen from here, but this morning it was very quiet.
There was hardly anything around and nothing in close. I think the highlight of the morning was going to be a very, very distant Fox sulking around underneath the bushes on the far side of the lake.
Finally after well over three hours of waiting, this little beauty flew in. He flitted around between two different perches for two and a half minutes and then he was gone again.
I waited another 30 minutes but he didn't return.
Wonderful shot, fav for me. Walked around three sites today, 2 new and 1 known to me. Happily saw two Kingfishers on one of the new sites. Saw the kingfisher when camera was all set but it was not in a photogenic mood!
