This little Goldcrest was showing off in front of me for five minutes. He came out of the cover of the tree and sat still, ( very unusual for a Goldcrest), on some of the perches I have got dotted around the garden. He was perched, with out moving, as close as 12 inches from my face.
When they are that close to you, you can truly appreciate just how beautiful they are, how delicate and just how very, very tiny they are.
He then flew back into cover, hopping around looking for food. I took the chance to nip into the house for a camera. Once I came back out, would he sit still, no chance ! Would he come back out and pose nicely on an open perch, no chance.
Would he fly away and stop tormenting me, no chance.
Definitely seems a bit camera shy.
