This is on the Isle of Gigha, looking down on one of the Twin Beaches. Just to the right of this shot is another lovely sandy beach facing south.
When the Queen still had the Royal Yacht Britannia, she used to cruise around the Scottish Islands in the summer. According to locals, the boat used to anchor off shore, and the Queen and guests would come ashore for picnics and barbecues.
The land on the horizon is part of the Kintire Peninsula.
