After the not very clear warning signs, you reach this, a sluice gate. Between the two sandstone towers is a pole which can lift or lower a gate which controls the height of the water.
But that nice sharp edge to the right of the image would just lead you straight over quite a large sheer drop into the lower waterway.
This might be an interesting place to be after lots of rain.
