COMMON GULLS NEST by markp

COMMON GULLS NEST

This nest was right next to the very quiet road, that passes, a very large inland Common Gull colony. They are quite large, bigger than hens or duck eggs. Probably closer to a goose's egg.

Makes your eyes smart to think that a Gull is passing an egg that size!

Let's hope that their proximity to the road doesn't cause them to get disturbed.

@gardencat No, I think it should be okay. Apart from it being a long, narrow, winding lane, that isn't really, a short cut. The main road is faster and not much longer. Plus at this end of it, there is a little bridge that has been damaged slightly by flood waters, and has been closed. The rest of the colony, further back, has been here for a number of years and I think these are just making the most of hardly any passing traffic, as its not a through route any longer.
