If this looks slightly familiar that's because I posted it a couple of days ago but was not happy with it and thought it could be improved. Played with it a bit and cropped it a bit more and think this version is much better, but did not want to just swap the photos and lose all those really nice comments so re-posted it here. Incase you have not read the story behind it I have put it down below.
It's half term holidays so Grandmonster Willow came with me to take some photographs. She fed the Swans, geese, ducks, gulls and pigeons, while I took pictures and tried to make sure she did not throw herself into the canal with her enthusiastic bread throwing. Then we took a walk along the banks of the River Mersey, crossed a bridge and returned alongside the canal. The path here was much wetter and as she had wellies on she was soon jumping up and down in the puddles. The puddles got muddier as we walked down, but she enjoyed herself. I put her in the car on a blanket and as I drove home she inspected the damage, her coat was dirty, and her pants were black right up to mid-thiigh. She took all this in and then looked up at me and said " Granddad, you need to hide me from Mummy and Daddy". She was okay, she was with me so they expected her to be slightly mucky.
Fabulous - and she made a water crown!
This is a fav because of the joy - I remember my son being young and jumping in puddles. I was conflicted with wanting him to not get his clothes dirty and with having fun - fortunately I let the fun part win out and glad you did too.
