They reckon crows are amongst the cleverest of birds and this Magpie certainly showed that he's no bird brain. I had just thrown out the crusts from the Monsters breakfast toast, I know, they will never get curls. Anyway within a few minutes two Magpies dropped down into the garden and hopped over to the crusts, as I watched through the window this one picked up a crust and made its way over to the small earthen ware saucer which was filled with water. He dropped it into the water, had a good look around, then dunked it in and out of the water a few times, and then when it had softened started to eat it. Maybe I should offer them a cup of tea with biscuits to dunk tomorrow.
Not the sharpest of shots as it was taken through glass, but I thought the story was worth telling.
@steampowered Thanks Paul, not got any croissants but have got Hot Cross Buns, just going to stick the kettle on and get the Nescaffe ready for todays shot.
Magpies remind me of my hometown of Newcastle. :>)
