OUTSIDE THE ITALIAN CHAPEL by markp

OUTSIDE THE ITALIAN CHAPEL

Another view of the famous Italian Chapel from Orkney. While I was there, I saw something which I thought was just a bit odd.
Look carefully, I used this POV, because I thought it slightly ironic, that this place of worship and peace, built by prisoners of war, long since freed, is still surrounded by barbed wire.
I know it is there to keep the stock in the fields behind, but it still seems to present an image from less peaceful times.

Another shot, and the history of the chapel here:

You have been very astute --- I would have thought nothing of it rather than keeping the sheep away . Very Italian looking !
