My niece's Wedding is being held at Shrigley Hall, near Macclesfield. A large part of hotel is an old Monastery, which gives it a great character, if a rather large and spread out building. It seems to be a very long winding walk up and down stairs, across carpets, floor boards, or some wonderful old stone floors just to get to another part of the building.
The staff must walk miles and miles around the place. This is the room that the reception will be held in. It has a very high domed ceiling, and is basically circular and has four of these large cave like alcoves. One had tables and chairs in, the one to the right of the shot, leads to one of the entrances to the room, a very steep staircase, which gave you wonderful views looking over the countryside towards Manchester. This alcove was also used for the food.
The cave behind me housed the disco for the evening, and the alcove to the left had been walled off to house the kitchen. A wonderful room.
