@Cherrill Yes, Cherrill, THE Spike Island ! As in Stone Roses ! No I have not got around to watching the film yet. However I did see them making it. Interesting tale time.
They were there for about a week filming. The first few days it was lovely, sunny and warm, all the extras and actors wearing T-shirts and light summer wear from the era. However on the Thursday, the weather changed, it didn't rain but it went grey with a really bitterly cold wind. There is no shelter down there being next to the river, but because the earlier scenes had been filmed in the sun, the cast and all the extras had to still wear the light summer clothes.
It was freezing and every time the director shouted "Cut " there was a mass dash to the large piles of warm coats and jumpers and things till the next shot.
@markp lol how interesting.....I must remember next time I watch it...one of my favourites. I'm really too old to be a fan but both my partner and his son have been to see them and the music gets played a lot! I think I've been brainwashed! Do get the film!
