OLD BRICKWORKS by markp

OLD BRICKWORKS

A pleasant walk, and then a tricky decent down a steep, very rough and rather slippery path, which turns into a very narrow tunnel through very sharp Gorse bushes eventually brings you down to these old brickworks. They are on the North coast of Anglesey in Porth Wen, but we have always known this as Brickworks Bay.

On the far side of the shot, underneath the roofless building is a little beach. This is comprised mostly of crushed brick particles, I think the sea has battered the bricks over the years.
This material is slightly porous, and has little air pockets inside, and tends to float just very slightly above the real seabed. It feels very strange walking bare foot through it when the tide is in.

PS. Today's other post is taken from the top of the hill in the background.
Great capture.
