This is another species that became extinct in the wild, in fact it got as low as 13 animals in the whole world.
Fortunately it has been bred and released back into the wild.While the numbers are still low, it does appear to be recovering.
While it is also known as the Mongolian Horse, it is believed to have roamed across Scotland about 3 or 4 thousand years ago.

@beryl Thank you Beryl, yes there are some in Wales. There are herds in many countries now trying to built up numbers to help get the established in the wild.
