THE OLD AND THE NEW by markp

THE OLD AND THE NEW

Peering through the rigging of the Brigantine Zebu, a favourite type of ship for pirates, you can see the modern glass architecture of the Liverpool Waterfront.
Look further into the centre of the image and you can spy one of the famous Liver Birds, atop the Liver Buildings, from a much earlier time.

It costs a £1 to step aboard the ship, and they have a big box of pirate clothes, hats and weapons, for new kids and also kids of an older age to try on.

Zebu is moored in the Canning Dock.

I like these shots juxtaposing old against new. It's sobering when you think how little time has actually passed between the different eras. (little on the astronomical scale that is).
