While I was waiting and searching for yesterday's white squirrel, I passed some of my time watching the antics of the many other normal grey ones.
Now most of you all, at one time or another will have been attacked by the super sharp spikes on a Thistle plant.
Cattle and horses seem to leave them alone, so imagine my surprise when I spotted this silly squirrel ripping pieces off this Thistle plant and eating them !
There is a glut of various other food sources for him to choose, but no, he has to pick the prickly option !
Although, whilst watching him, he did once jump up suddenly, moving his paw off the leaf. Maybe one of the spikes had stuck in his paw or mouth.
