@dutchothotmailcom Unfortunately, no it's not. I have walked down it years ago, but now its very securely closed off. You used to be able to go a long way down, way past the bridges. There is a church on the land between the river and canal, not visible here, around to the left, and you could get down to that.
The main purpose of that path was to reach a set of, ( now disused I think), locks that would take you from the canal to the river or vice versa. Not really visible here, they are just beyond all those bushes.
