Apparently, mystery beetles do it too !!
Well I say mystery, as when I first saw these I thought they were some sort of Tiger Beetle species.
However after a lot of research in books and online, it turns out they are not.
Wrong colour, patterns, none are found up in this part of the country.
So mystery beetles.
Then as I was posting this, I thought, I wonder if ?
Tried a new line, and can announce the mystery is solved.
They are a species of Longhorn Beetle, Rhagium Bifasciatum.
Well worth the effort !!
