Now I think this is a very unusual sight, it is from Egilsay.
This birds song is one of the traditional sounds of the British Countryside in the Spring. The beautiful courtship song of the Skylark delivered from way up high, will be familiar to a few of you. The song is really loud and carries very well, sometimes you can't see the bird it is so high in the sky.
I do not ever recall seeing a Skylark singing its magical song whilst it is still perched.
