CURLEW by markp

CURLEW

Quite a large wader, with a very long down curved bill. This might be a female, as they tend to have a longer bill, and this bird seemed to have a longer bill than some of the others I photographed.
It has a wonderful evocative bubbling song and who has not heard its loud whistling "cur-lee " across the hills and moors in summer, and the coasts and marshes in the winter.
Great shot and yes I love the call of this bird.

What an unusual bird - love that bill - you got such nice detail on her.
