Good morning! by marlboromaam

Good morning!

Found in a ditch still in the shade with tall trees on both sides of the road. I could've easily dismissed this lovely wild bloom as a morning glory and move on, but I like to know! So with a little research on the "name that plant" website, I found it. It's a wild sweet potato vine, also known by other common names, like manroot and man-of-the-earth. It is native to the Carolinas and Georgia. http://namethatplant.net/plantdetail.shtml?plant=753
Beautiful find. Great shot.

Being native to that area means we don't have it here but we do have a similar one but I can't remember its name. This has a feeling of hope - I'm determined to flower, regardless!

@maggiemae You could have it there and it would mean non-native, possibly invasive. Lots of plants were taken from the Americas to the UK, Europe and Australia and visa versa. Thank you for your comments, Maggiemae! You do flower and mend! I need you to be here. =)
