The artists of the Hague School created a lot of their works of the many mills along the canals in lands around the city.
The 'Korpershoek' in Schipluiden is the only one left, although not original. The predecessor from 1865 burned down in 1945. It was rebuilt in 1950 with the use of a much older mill from Leimuiden ('De Jonge Pieter', 1772).
