Not a good picture but a good story. by maysvilleky

Not a good picture but a good story.

When I was younger I would sometimes buy random stuff that I found interesting. I bought this camera, probably, in the late 1970’s.

Small world reference about this is that the address on the registration card (dated 1/15/1950) is on street right behind my house.

We have a saying here that “Maysville is the center of the universe. And all roads lead to Maysville.” Following along with that reference, here is the rest of the story.

I did not recognize the name on the card so I did some research. I found that Mr. B & his wife are both deceased & their only child no longer lives here. An interesting part of story is that the wife’s brother was Robert Penn Warren, Warren was an author & a poet. His best know work was Pulitzer Price winner, “All the King’s Men”. Thus a rather famous connection with small town America.

Wait for it...wait for it.....today I was able to locate the granddaughter, who the daughter lives with. She would love to have the registration card. She asked if there is any film in the camera & there is not....but there is a sealed canister marked Ansco color positive. So I will send her the card & the canister & hope there are family memories to be printed.
Awesome! Love this story. Hope there are photos in the canister. It might be a good idea for them to find a photo lab still in business and let them open the canister correctly, so photos on the film won't be destroyed.
