Curious, how close to the needle to they let get? Wouldn't want a hot spark.

@byrdlip I'm not sure how close they let you get now since I picked my position for the shot. In 1992 when they started it I was close enough that I did have to pick falling stuff out of my hair. It was cool by the time it hit the ground.

@attraversi I try to post coordinate so people can know "exactly" I took them. This was from the north side of the fountain.

Oh! Sorry! Oy, what a "duh" moment. Ironic that I asked you for the exact location! I guess I'm more of a relative location thinker - hearing north side of the fountain, I have a clear picture of where it is :-)
